This universal USB/RS232 converterworks with all Rabbit products. Successfully tested with Dynamic C from Windows and Linux systems, it seems very convenient for programming from a laptop! Of course this converter is used in a very general way out of Rabbit context.
It solves the problems of no serial port on laptops. The 1-metre-long cord uses the FTDI FT232BM circuit and the Sipex SP213EHCA voltage converter. The data transfer rate is 460kBauds. The set of control signals and Modem data accessible on the PC-compatible male DB9 connector is complete (TxD, RxD, RTS, CTS, DSR, DTR, DCD, RI and GND mass). The converter has an internal transmission FIFO buffer of 128 bytes and 384 bytes for reception. (CDRom provided)
